Personalised care
Every individual we care for receives individualised care based on their needs. Our care packages and clients begin with a personalised care plan that outlines their needs, the responsibilities of the carer, as well as other people involved in their care such as social workers, GPs, and family members.
Our care staff provides discreet and respectful personal care to each client
Among the personal care services available are:
- A helping hand in getting up and going to bed
- Shave and haircare
- Assistance with washing, brushing, bathing, and dressing
- Feeding and cooking meals as needed
- Medication prompts and administration
- Toenail/fingernail care and skin care
Personal care: why is it so important?
The provision of personal care contributes to the dignity, health, and wellbeing of an individual. It can also help prevent the worsening of pre-existing conditions with good hygiene and personal care. Those with chronic skin conditions, for instance, may suffer from worsening conditions if they don’t moisturise or use creams daily. Our approach to our work as care assistants is always sensitive and compassionate. Receiving personal care may cause considerable embarrassment or frustration to service users.
How we deliver good personal care
- Discuss the type of care being provided. Our clients are informed about what we are doing and why we are doing it
- In dealing with personal tasks, we create a safe, happy environment
- In order to provide routine, familiarity, and comfort, we prepare and arrange tasks in a similar order
- Our goal is to maintain as much independence as possible
- As we work with someone, we listen to their wishes
